| This is one of the best sounding magnetic pickups for acoustic guitar. Ry Cooder, Leo Kottke, David Lindley, Richard Thompson, the late Michael Hedges... can't all be wrong, it is great. It is made by Jim Kaufman in the U.S.A. I've bought it online from Shoreline Acoustic Music. I highly recommend their services. I'm running the Sunrise pickup through the Presonus Acousti-Q tube preamp (or the Sans Amp Acoustic DI), then the signal goes to the TC Electronics G-Major effect processor, and then finaly to the either guitar amp or my PA ( MACKIE 1402 VLZ PRO mixer and MACKIE SRM450 active monitors/loudspeakers) . So, Sunrise IS great, but you'll have to work hard with it. Forget about plugging in and sounding fantastic. Maybe that's why it's so good, you can taylor it the way you want, you can adjust the pole pieces and achieve beautiful string balance. |
