HOMESICK MAC's UNOFFICIAL AND SOMETIMES SECRET RECORDINGS
Hello and welcome to the page of Homesick Mac's unofficial recordings!
We've been receiving many emails with questions about if and what I do besides my solo career and work with the Blues Trio or my band. Of course that I enjoy working with other people and here's a bunch of unofficial recordings that are never to be released because of either the poorer recording quality or other reasons, never mind that now :-) I've included some technical info about the recordings for those interested...

Bo Eriksson is one of the best guitar players in Scandinavia and we work together occasionaly, sometimes as a duo, sometimes with a drumer.
I treasure this collaboration because Bo is, besides for being a fenomenal guitar player, also a dear friend. The fact that he plays mostly electric gives our sound a special dimension - acoustic meets electric.
The recordings you can hear here are made with a very average mini stereo mic directly into an MD and they are not processed in any way. It sounds very raw and that's it. A good buddy of mine booked us to play for car enthusiasts at the Ring Knutstorp car show in Sweden. The trouble was - only 6 people showed up. I think there were all together 10 people during the course of the evening...
A couple of months later we were booked to play at the most prestigeous jazz & blues club in Stockholm "Fasching" and I guess that was a reward of some kind. Nothing wrong with small gigs, been there and done it many times, but it's a true fun to play for couple of hundreds enthusiasts, in this case throught the Stockholm Blues Association.
Glory Glory... (Bo E. slide, electric gtr, Mac on fingerpicked archtop gtr & vocals)
That's All Right (Bo E. electric gtr, Mac on archtop gtr & vocals)
Travellin' Coon (Bo E. electric gtr, Mac on fingerpicked archtop gtr & vocals)
Gotta Find My Babe (Bo E. electric gtr, Mac on archtop gtr & vocals)

Rick Storey is a California based banjo and guitar player and he's also a very fine songwriter. He lived in Sweden for 12 years before moving back to the US and we've played quite a lot together in the mid 90's.
The recordings here were made with a very simple setup, three mics and Rick's banjo lined into a ROSS mixer. Then everything went to a DAT. The idea was to have fun and check out some songs we were planing to play live. This is the bluegrass to the bone and how could we not play the theme from the movie "Deliverance"?! No way, Rick is one of the very few banjo players who can play this tune the right way and it soon became his main number whenever we performed.
Don't Let Your Deals Go Down (Rick on banjo, Mac on acoustic guitar & vocals)
Ain't Gonna Work Tomorrow (Rick on banjo and vocals, Mac on acoustic guitar & vocals)
Duelin' Banjos (Rick banjo, Mac acoustic guitar)

with Mats Bengtsson Space Mats used to play keyboards in the Swedish answer to Rolling Stones, a band called VILMER X. Great rock 'n' roll band that's been around for decades.
We love each other's playing and these recordings were engineered in November 2005 by Lave Lindholm in Malmö, Sweden.
Ants In My Pants (Mats piano, Mac on acoustic guitar & vocals)
Custard Pie Blues (Mats piano, Mac on acoustic guitar & vocals)
Rattlesnakin' Daddy (Mats piano, Mac plays the Continental Style 1 & sings)
Homesick Mac solo This song has been one of my favorites ever since I started playing the guitar. One afternoon in 1998, as I was warming up for the recording session, I played this and recorded one take, just to test the sound. The session was intended for recording several songs for my CD "Leaving" and I was actually preparing to do the "Deep River Blues" and "900 Miles". I rarely test the sound in the studio by playing the song I think of recording, I kind of like to have it really fresh out of my fingers when it's time to hit the recording button...
This recording is also quite raw because we never mixed it and it's deffinitely not been mastered. It's recorded in a good studio but there was no intention of releasing it anywhere, and it's very simple. I do like the boomy sound of the big Kozlik (now Stevens Guitar's Southern Jumbo) though, it's a killer guitar.
Recorded at the Sensus Music House, Helsingborg, Sweden, recording engineer Joachim Carlsson.
Folsom Prison Blues (Homesick Mac, acoustic guitar & vocals)
